Rimbey, Alta. – On June 21, 2025, Rimbey RCMP initiated an investigation into a theft of a horse. As a result of the investigation, Katrina Doiron (28), a resident of Ponoka County, has been charged with theft of cattle over $5000. There is currently a warrant for her arrest.

Doiron is refusing to return the horse, whose name is Hank, and will not tell police where Hank is. She has also stated she is in the process of selling Hank. Rimbey RCMP is seeking assistance in locating him so he can be returned to his rightful owner. As well, RCMP is advising that if you are in possession of Hank, you are committing the offence of possessing stolen property over $5000.

UPDATE #1: Aug. 14, 2025

Rimbey, Alta. – Rimbey RCMP would like to thank the community and media for their response in assisting the RCMP in locating Katrina Doiron (28).  On August 14, 2025, Rimbey RCMP were contacted by Doiron advising she would turn herself in to police. Doiron attended the Rimbey Detachment and was released on an Undertaking for Court in Rimbey October 1, 2025.

Doiron provided no assistance or information to the whereabouts of the horse, named Hank.

Rimbey RCMP and the Livestock Investigative Unit continue seeking assistance in locating Hank so he can be returned to his rightful owner.
