The August long weekend (Aug 1–4, 2025) in east‑central Alberta delivered near‑perfect summer weather—sunny, warm days Friday and Saturday with rain in many parts of the province on Sunday.
It was also rodeo season: two well-loved rodeos—Coronation Pro Rodeo and the milestone 50th Tees Rodeo—ran Friday through Sunday, offering a blend of action-packed events, community celebrations, live music, breakfasts, races, and western‑style entertainment.
Camrose hosted it's annual Big Valley Jamboree, a four-day country music festival that attracts thousands with live music and camping.
Smaller towns, community halls, and museums invite visitors to enjoy local heritage-themed gatherings or excursions to sites like Pioneer Acres Museum, whose big show follows the long weekend.
