Alberta Rural Organized Crime Team concludes drug investigation

On May 20, 2026, while making proactive patrols in the area of Gasoline Alley in Red Deer, the Alberta RCMP Rural Organized Crime Team members entered into a drug trafficking investigation. A traffic stop was conducted on a rental vehicle where police arrested the driver and passenger of the vehicle as part of the investigation.

 

As a result of the investigation, Police located and seized:

-        185.07 grams of Methamphetamine;

-        850 ml of Gama Hydroxyburate (GHB);

-        0.2 grams of Fentanyl;

-        4.1 grams of Cocaine; and

-        An improvised taser.

 

Kevin Adams, a 47-year-old resident of Eckville, and Samantha Petersen, a 36-year-old resident of Red Deer, are jointly charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

 

Kevin Adams and Samantha Petersen were brought before a justice of the peace. Kevin Adams was released on conditions while Samantha Petersen was remanded into custody. Both are set to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on June 2, 2026.
