Brooks RCMP on scene at serious motor vehicle collision

Tilley, Alta. – On Aug. 25, 2025, at 4:10 a.m., Brooks RCMP responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle on Highway 1, near Range Road 131. Upon arrival, a damaged vehicle was located with the doors open and a deceased person was located on the side of the road. Initial investigation has determined that the deceased hit an animal and was checking his vehicle when he was hit by another vehicle. The vehicle which hit him did not remain on scene.

 

The deceased was identified as a 30-year-old male resident of Andrews, Alta. RCMP sends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

 

The investigation continues. There is reason to believe the suspect vehicle is a grey or silver Volkswagen which will have damage to the drivers side. 

 

August 27 UPDATE


Tilley, Alta. –  Brooks RCMP continues to investigate the fatal hit and run from Aug. 25, 2025. It is now believed that the suspect vehicle is a 2015-2016 Volkswagen Jetta. The colour is unknown but it will have drivers side damage.


RCMP is seeking assistance from the public.
