Four people are facing charges following two unrelated break-ins at a gas plant in Red Deer County on June 6.

Three Hills RCMP responded to the first incident at about 3:23 a.m. after a security company reported a man and woman inside the gated facility. The pair allegedly stole fuel before leaving the scene. Police later located the suspects in a disabled truck on the side of the road and arrested them.

Investigators seized break-in tools, contraband tobacco, illicit cannabis and psilocybin from the vehicle.

Brittany Albers, 30, and Travis Gorham, 46, both of Mirror, were charged with break and enter and several related offences. Albers also faces a charge of failing to comply with a release order. Both were remanded into custody and were scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Didsbury on June 8.

Later the same day, at about 1:21 p.m., RCMP received another report of a break-in at the same gas plant.

Security staff observed two men entering the property and stealing fuel before leaving in a truck displaying a stolen licence plate.

With assistance from Red Deer RCMP, Blackfalds RCMP, Police Dog Services and remotely piloted aircraft operators, officers tracked the vehicle to Red Deer. Police arrested two men after the vehicle stopped in an industrial area and determined it had been stolen.

Tristan Quast, 30, of Stettler, was charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of break-in instruments and failing to comply with a release order.

Morley Savage, 29, of Stettler, was charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime, driving while prohibited, possession of break-in instruments and disguising with intent.

Police also arrested Maria Jamieson, 23, of Airdrie, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant. She was additionally charged with possession of property obtained by crime and obstructing a peace officer.

All three were remanded into custody. Jamieson was scheduled to appear in court in Red Deer on June 8, while Quast and Savage were scheduled to appear on June 9.

RCMP credited the gas plant's security systems and the coordinated response of several police units with helping identify and arrest the suspects.
