Grande Prairie RCMP charges male for attempted abduction

Alberta News

On March 21, 2026, at 9:53pm, Grande Prairie RCMP responded to a report of an attempted abduction. It was reported that an unknown male followed a 10-year-old female who was walking down the road. The female victim noticed the male was following her and fled inside her friend’s house. The suspect followed her to the door, knocked and tried to convince the homeowner to have the victim come outside, stating that the victim was his sister. The accused then tried to force the door open and was pushed out.

RCMP identified the suspect as 50-year-old George Wilson, a resident of Grande Prairie, who was arrested on March 22, 2026. Wilson has been charged with abduction of a person under 14 years-old and mischief under $5000.

Wilson was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on April 8, 2026.
