Peace River RCMP makes arrest in armed robbery investigation

Peace River, Alta. – On July 15, 2025, Peace River RCMP received a complaint regarding an armed robbery at a residence. RCMP responded immediately but the suspect had already fled the scene. Further investigation revealed that this was a targeted incident, with the suspect later identified and subsequently arrested on Aug. 7, 2025.
As a result of the investigation, Jayson Ryan Arndt (37), a resident of St. Isidore, Alta., was charged with:
Robbery with firearm;
Assault causing bodily harm;
Uttering threats;
Pointing firearm;
Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose;
Possession of firearm knowing its unauthorized;
Possession of weapon contrary to order; and
Theft of motor vehicle.
Arndt was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River on Aug. 11, 2025.
