Lloydminster RCMP noise complaint turns into s*xual assault investigation
Lloydminster, Alta. – On Dec. 5, 2025, around 3:47 a.m., Lloydminster RCMP responded to a noise complaint at a local hotel. Upon arrival, officers spoke with someone in the lobby, who told them they had been s*xually assaulted by individuals in the hotel. RCMP officers located the room and arrested three suspects within. A search warrant was then executed with assistance from Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section and Lloydminster Forensic Identification Section.
As a result of the investigation, Karan Joshi (39), Ghanshyam Verma (22), both residents of Lloydminster, and Joginder Momi (45), a resident of Edmonton, were charged with s*xual assault and forcible confinement.
The three accused were brought before a justice of the peace and initially remanded into custody but have since been released on conditions, to appear before the Lloydminster Provincial Court on Jan. 12, 2026.
