Red Deer RCMP share success of Shred Day 2026

Local News

Red Deer RCMP would like to thank the public for their participation in Shred Day.

The Red Deer RCMP in collaboration with Merlin Shredding, and the City of Red Deer, hosted our annual Shred Day at the Red Deer Skate Park on Mar. 26, 2026.

This event resulted in 7500 pounds of confidential documents being shredded and a total of $1068.50 donated to Ronald McDonald House Alberta.

Red Deer RCMP extends our extreme gratitude to Merlin Shredding for donating their shredding services. Without their collaboration, this event would not be possible.

As we wrap up fraud prevention month, the Red Deer RCMP would like to remind the public to remain vigilant. As more of our daily activities take place online and over the phone, fraudsters are finding new ways to scam unsuspecting victims through digital communication.

If you become a victim of fraud, please contact your local police, as well as the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca or 1-888-495-8501). Contact your bank and credit card company right away if your financial information has been compromised.
