Redwater RCMP respond to double fatal collision

Alberta News

On Dec. 13, 2025 at approximately 4:48 p.m., Redwater RCMP, Redwater Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services, responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 38, Township Road 570 and Highway 643.  Preliminary investigation reveals a semi-truck with trailer was travelling west on Highway 38, when the 22-year-old male driver failed to stop at the posted stop sign. This resulted in a collision with a pickup truck travelling southbound on Highway 38, where the highway changes to Highway 643.

The 41-year-old male driver, of Edmonton, and 34-year-old male front passenger of the pickup truck, of Sherwood Park, Alta., were both declared deceased on scene. The 43-year-old female passenger, of St. Albert, Alta., travelling in the back seat of the pickup truck, sustained serious injuries. She was transported by ground ambulance to hospital, where she is receiving medical treatment. The driver of the semi was treated and released from hospital.

Redwater RCMP investigation is ongoing. Alberta RCMP Collision Analyst was engaged and is assisting in this investigation.
