Residents gathered in downtown Coronation on June 24 for the third annual Rock the Block, an evening of live entertainment, family activities and community engagement hosted by the Coronation Retail Committee.

The event brought together local businesses, organizations and residents for several hours of music, games and information booths, while providing an opportunity to showcase community groups and upcoming events.

Among the participating organizations was the Coronation Elks Lodge No. 360, which collected donations for the Coronation Food Bank and offered a shootout game for attendees. The Elks also promoted their upcoming Kids Can Catch Day, scheduled for July 12.

Coronation Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) also took part in the festivities, connecting with residents while handing out ice cream and hosting a prize draw.

Warm weather and sunshine drew families to the event, where children enjoyed activities while residents visited with neighbours and explored displays from local organizations. Live music provided entertainment throughout the evening.

Rock the Block has continued to grow since it was first introduced three years ago, becoming an annual summer gathering that highlights the community's businesses, volunteer organizations and local services while encouraging residents to spend time together in the town's downtown core.
