Wetaskiwin RCMP investigates hit and run

On May 26 2026, around 6 p.m., Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a collision involving a motorcycle. The bike was travelling Northbound on Highway 2a, when it attempted to overtake a semi and was struck by another vehicle doing the same. The biker lost control and rolled over in the ditch. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle, described as a white SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer or Chevy Equinox, with unit #019 marked on it, failed to stop at the scene.

 

Wetaskiwin RCMP is requesting that anyone with information or dashcam footage of Highway 2a, South of Millet, Alta., between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., please contact the Wetaskiwin RCMP at 780-312-7200.
