Wood Buffalo RCMP investigate hit and run collision

Fort McMurray, Alta – On Oct. 26, 2025, at approximately 12:11am, Wood Buffalo RCMP received multiple reports of a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed on Pacific Crescent, in the Timberlea area of Fort McMurray. The vehicle then nearly struck another driver before it drove through the park fence at Pacific Crescent and Breaker Street, continuing through the field. The vehicle was last observed driving towards École McTavish High School and the Independent Grocery store. Several witnesses provided a possible licence plate however it was not a match. Police were unable to locate the vehicle upon arrival in the area.
The suspect vehicle is a described as:
Grey or silver
Smaller sized pick up truck, possible make Toyota
Sunroof
Significant damage to the front end
Surveillance images of the suspect vehicle were obtained from a resident in the area by Police.
