On Dec. 10, 2025, at approximately 2:20 p.m., Elk Point RCMP attempted to stop a vehicle, possibly linked to a drug trafficking and weapon file out of Onion Lake, Sask., in the area of Frog Lake, Alta. The driver refused to stop, fleeing from police. Additional units responded, and a tire deflation device was successfully deployed, disabling the vehicle. The suspects were arrested without incident after the vehicle came to a stop a short while later.
A search of the vehicle, and those within, incidental to arrest led to the seizure of:
Brass knuckles;
Ammunition;
Suspected methamphetamine packaged in a way consistent with drug trafficking; and
Drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Community members then came up to officers, stating that, in the area where the tire deflation device had been deployed, two firearms had been thrown out of the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle confirmed that those had been thrown out of their vehicle. Further inspection of the firearms, a shotgun and a rifle, revealed tampered serial numbers as well as illegal modifications.
As a result of the investigation, Courtlin Littlewolfe (39) and Warren Littlewolfe (35) both residents of Onion Lake, have been charged with:
Flight from police;
Possession of a prohibited weapon;
Possession of weapon contrary to order;
Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking; and
22 additional firearm-related offences.
Courtlin and Warren Littlewolfe were brought before a justice of the pace and remanded into custody, to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Paul on Dec. 18, 2025.
“We would like to start by thanking the members of the public who made sure that we were aware of the firearms that had been thrown our of the vehicle, thus ensuring the safety of the community” said Cst. Nicholas Couture of the Elk Point RCMP Detachment. “We take the safety of our community very seriously and will keep working proactively, using information from the public, our partners and other RCMP detachments, be they in Alberta or otherwise, to find and arrest those responsible for causing harm to others”.
