RCMP release clearer images of truck linked to Brooks arson

Alberta News

Brooks RCMP have released clearer images of a pickup truck believed to be connected to an arson investigation involving incendiary devices.

Police now describe the vehicle as a white Chevrolet or GMC crew-cab pickup with a tonneau cover and chrome trim running along the lower portion of the doors.

The investigation began after two incendiary devices were thrown toward the backyard of a South Shore Drive residence at about 1:34 a.m. on Aug. 2.

The devices caused a small fire on the deck. Brooks Fire Services extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported.

Several windows on a pickup parked at the property were broken and a basement window at the residence was also damaged.

RCMP believe the incident was a targeted attack.

Investigators reviewing surveillance footage identified two vehicles of interest in the area around the time of the incident. Police are asking for help identifying the white pickup shown in the newly released images.

Anyone who recognizes the vehicle or has information about the incident is asked to contact Brooks RCMP at 403-794-4400 or 310-RCMP.

Anonymous information can be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, through P3Tips.com or through the P3 Tips mobile application.
