Brooks RCMP arrests male for weapons offences

On March 10, 2026, Brooks RCMP received information that Cole Johnson-Whitfield was in the City of Brooks despite court-ordered conditions prohibiting him from attending the city.
Police were advised of a vehicle description which he was seen in and began searching the area it was last spotted. Officers than attended the residence of a known associate to Johnson-Whitfield on the west end of Brooks and conducted a door knock. While speaking with the homeowners, officers located a vehicle matching the description parked in the back alley. Shortly after, Johnson-Whitfield was located and arrested.
At the time of his arrest, Johnson-Whitfield was found to be carrying a knife, contrary to conditions.
As a result of the March 10, 2026, investigation, Cole Johnson-Whitfield has been charged with: Carrying a concealed weapon, Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Failure to comply with a release order (x3) and Uttering threats.
Johnson-Whitfield has been remanded into custody to appear at Alberta Court of Justice in Medicine Hat on March 19, 2026.
