Brooks RCMP respond to fatal collision

Alberta News

On Sept. 23, 2025, at 8:08 a.m., Brooks RCMP was dispatched to a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 1 and Highway 36, near Brooks.

Initial investigation shows that a semi-truck was northbound on Highway 36 and proceeded through the intersection onto Highway 1, at which time collided with a westbound 2020 black Chevrolet Equinox. The semi also hit three additional vehicles, causing minor damage, before stopping in the west ditch of Highway 36.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 62-year-old male resident of Calgary, was taken to a local hospital, where he passed away a short time later. The semi driver suffered minor injuries. The investigation continues.

RCMP sends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
