The roar of engines and the smell of fresh dirt filled the air as the Central Alberta Motocross Series (CAMS) brought its sixth round to the Stettler MX Track on Saturday, Aug. 9.
Riders from across the province spent the day tackling the challenging course just outside town, showcasing speed and skill in front of a strong crowd of spectators. The event followed earlier series stops in Calgary, Drumheller, Alix and Rocky Mountain House.
A light rain at the start of the weekend made for muddy track conditions, but riders adapted quickly. The main effect was some tire build-up, which did little to slow the competition. Hundreds of people attended, with the wet weather doing little to dampen the excitement.
Race-day registration and timing were handled through the RaceReady system, with results contributing to season standings across multiple classes. Safety checks, including helmet tag inspections, were completed before the first race.
The Stettler round added another chapter to this year’s CAMS season, giving fans an up-close look at Alberta’s motocross talent while offering riders valuable points toward the championship.
