Coronation RCMP makes arrest in s*x assault investigation

Local News

Castor, Alta. – On January 10, 2024, Coronation RCMP received a complaint regarding a series of s*xual assaults that started in around 2008. Further investigation, assisted by Consort RCMP and the RCMP K Division S*xual Assault Review Team, revealed a second victim, though it is believed that there have been more victims who have not come forth.

 

As a result of the investigation, Darcy Falkenberg (48), a resident of Castor, was charged with:

  • S*xual exploitation (x2);

  • S*xual assault (x2);

  • S*xual interference (x2);

  • Assault with a weapon;

  • Assault causing bodily harm;

  • Break and enter with intent to commit assault;

  • Uttering threats; and

  • Possession of child pornography.

 

Falkenberg was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Coronation on Dec. 12, 2025.

 

Coronation RCMP believes that there are additional victims that have yet to come forth.
