Alberta News

Drayton Valley, Alta. - On Aug. 1, 2025, the Drayton Valley RCMP received a complaint about an erratic driver on Highway 22. Drayton Valley RCMP members made patrols in the area and were able to locate the suspect vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted to determine the sobriety of the driver, resulting in members observing illegal goods inside the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of over 200g of Fentanyl, bear spray, a knife and drug paraphernalia. RCMP members also located several items of Lululemon clothing with security tags still on them, which were later discovered stolen from a Calgary Lululemon on July 31, 2025.

As a result of the investigation, 48-year-old Clairmont, Alta., resident Brent Darling was charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking;
