Hinton RCMP have recently concluded two fraud investigations, one that began in Aug. 2024 and the other in Nov. 2025. The first investigation revolved around the use of forged documents and false identity to register a vehicle in another person’s name in order to bypass their driving suspension. The second involved the use of false and altered documents to report damages and subsequent repairs done to her trailer by another individual in order to commit insurance fraud. The repairs were never completed though the receipt said otherwise.
For the Aug. 2024 investigation, Tenille Marie Anderson (44), a resident of Hinton, was arrested in Dec. 2025 and charged with 3 counts of identity fraud and 7 counts of possession of a forged document. She was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions, which included not to possess any identity documents, credit cards, debit cards, cheques or financial documents not issued to her.
For the Nov. 2025 file, Anderson was arrested in Jan. 2026 and charged with possession of a forged document. She was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions, including not to possess any identity documents, credit cards, debit cards, cheques or financial documents not issued to her.
Anderson is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Hinton on Feb. 18, 2026.
“We would like to take this opportunity to remind the public to always be aware of potential frauds or identity theft” said Cst. Dumouchel of the Hinton RCMP. “When registering a vehicle, doing a renewal or any other transaction at the registry, members of the public should take a minute to make sure no other vehicles are registered under their name. Furthermore, regular credit bureau checks can help spot any other potential risks before they end up doing harm to your credit.”
