Town of Castor residents under immediate boil water advisory
Town of Castor residents are under an immediate boil water advisory after an issue affected the municipal water plant early March 15.
A post on the Town of Castor Facebook page on March 15 at about 1 p.m. noted, “Effective immediately, boil water advisory. Alberta Health Services (AHS) has ordered the Town of Castor to issue a boil water advisory effective immediately.
“Water services have been temporarily restored; however, there will be low pressure or periods without water. This advisory will remain in effect until further notice.”
Earlier in the day, the Town of Castor notified residents through social media there was a serious problem with the municipal water plant.
“We have identified the issue at the Water Distribution Center and are sourcing parts for the repair. As it is Sunday, this has proven to be difficult.
“Once parts have been secured, we will provide an update.
“If we are unable to secure parts for the repair today, we will provide water in a different fashion.
“Please note that when water services are restored, we will be running under a boil water advisory.”
Original notice — March 15, 4:30 a.m.:
“We have experienced a water break at the Water Distribution Center this morning. There is no water going to the municipality at this time. We are unable to provide a time for when water services will be restored. This post will be updated with further information as it becomes available.”
