Olds RCMP seize illicit drugs and firearms during traffic stop

Mountain View County, Alta – On Nov. 27, 2025, at approximately 3:12 a.m., Olds RCMP received a complaint of a possible impaired driver swerving on Highway 2, north of Highway 582. Officers responded to the area and located a white dodge pickup in the ditch. The driver was detained for an impaired investigation.
During the vehicle seizure, officers located a bag with suspected cocaine, as well as scales and Canadian currency. Incidental to arrest, a concealed loaded firearm was located on the driver.
Dilshan Gill (27), a resident of Calgary, has been charged with the following offences:
Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
Careless use of a firearm
Carry concealed weapon
Possess restricted firearm without licence
Knowingly possess weapon without licence
Have firearm in motor vehicle
Possess loaded restricted firearm
Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
Following judicial hearing, Gill was remanded into custody to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Dec. 1, 2025.
