Parkland RCMP respond to fatal motor vehicle collision

Parkland County, Alta. –  On May 4, 2026, around 11:04 a.m., Parkland RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision between a Southbound semi-truck and a Northbound pickup truck near Township Road 524 and Highway 770. Both vehicles subsequently caught fire.


The 62-year-old male driver of the semi-truck was able to exit his vehicle, was assessed at scene and transported to hospital.


As the investigation continued, it was confirmed that the pickup truck had a sole occupant, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Parkland RCMP extend their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.


An RCMP collision analyst from Parkland RCMP attended the scene, and RCMP’s Real Time Operations Centre in Edmonton was engaged. Police would like to thank Stony Plain Fire & Parkland Fire for responding to the collision, while Parkland County Enforcement Services and LEDCOR assisted with traffic detours.
