RCMP Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit and Calgary Police Service recover stolen construction equipment

Rocky View County, Alta. - On Sept. 22, 2025, RCMP Southern Crime Reduction Unit, in partnership with Calgary Police Service, executed a search warrant at a rural property on Range Road 281 in Rocky View County. This search warrant was the result of an investigation involving a theft of construction equipment.

As a result of the search warrant, the following property was recovered:

• ASV RT-40 Skid Loader

• BMW M4

• Bobcat 463 Skidsteer

• Bobcat S70 Skidsteer

• Bobcat S590 Skidsteer

• John Deere 35D Excavator

• Ditchwitch

• Rainbow 7718M Flat deck trailer

• Tandem Axel flat deck trailer

The stolen property was recovered from thefts reported in Calgary, Airdrie, Okotoks, Chestermere, and Strathmore, and is valued at approximately $500,000.

Shailend Sharma (55), a resident of Rocky View County, has been charged with the following:

• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 (x9);

• Tampering with Vehicle Identification Number (x4).

Sharma will appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Calgary on Oct. 21, 2025.
