Scissors snapping in unison and the deed was done—Prairie College in Three Hills officially opened its 266-bed residence August 9.
We are, in the words of college President Mark Maxwell, “here to dedicate this beautiful building to God and His service.”
The five-storey Heritage Hall, started a year ago by Eagle Builders of Blackfalds, cost $22.4M and was fully funded by donations and pledges. Students will enjoy heated floors, air conditioning, common areas, games room, patio, fitness room, and a prayer room.
Designed to replace an existing residence which dates to 1972, the 103-year-old college determined the high cost of renovating the old dorm made it more advantageous to construct a new, more efficient building.
