On March 12, 2026, at 5:43 p.m., Airdrie RCMP responded to a hit and run involving a gold-coloured Acura SUV and a pedestrian, on Cobblestone Blvd in Airdrie. Two children were shovelling snow off the sidewalk with their mother when one of the children was struck by the SUV after it lost control and drove onto the sidewalk. The SUV then hit a tree and fled the scene, driving south bound on Cobblestone Blvd.

The vehicle was believed to have two occupants: a female driver and male passenger. The female is described as between 16 and 20 years old, medium coloured skin and she was wearing a white toque. The male is believed to be between 16 and 18 years old.

The vehicle was located abandoned and has since been seized.

Thankfully, the 6-year-old child only received minor injuries because of this incident.
