Business Spotlight - Kylyne’s Custom Treasures

Business Spotlight, Alberta News

Fantasy readers know that mythical creatures known as dragons can do many amazing things, but a local Stettler business is creating beasts that have new skills: storytelling and acceptance.

Kylyne’s Custom Treasures, owned and operated by Carolyn and Kyle, uses quality 3-D printing technology to translate the power of dragons into art.

Carolyne and Kyle started Kylyne’s Custom Treasures to create a space where different types of art could truly coexist. Kyle’s expertise and passion lies in 3D printing, while Carolyne has always turned to art as a way to process and express feelings and thoughts.

“When we first considered dragons as a product, it coincided with my own ADHD diagnosis,” said Carolyne. “For Kyle, who was diagnosed with ADHD, ADD, and dyslexia at age 8, neurodivergence was already a familiar part of life. For me, getting my diagnosis at 32 was a turning point—one that brought both relief and a wave of unexpected grief.

“This realization transformed the way we approached our art. The dragons became more than just 3D-printed, hand-painted figures. They became vessels for storytelling and self-acceptance. We wanted each dragon to have a soul, a personality, and a story that would resonate with people who rarely see themselves reflected in art or collectibles. By centering neurodiversity, we hoped to encourage others to embrace their own quirks and what makes them different, rather than hide behind a mask.

“Through these dragons, we want to offer a new kind of label—one that celebrates uniqueness and neurodivergent strengths.”

Kylyne’s majestic Treasures are as unique as the inspirations that gave birth to them. “By giving each dragon a story and a soul, we hope to break the stigma around neurodiversity and offer a tangible reminder that everyone’s unique wiring is something to be celebrated,” they said. “The dragons aren’t just art. They’re invitations to embrace authenticity, healing, self-acceptance, and the power of choosing your own label.”

The creators use the tagline, “Find your people. Find your dragon. Find yourself.” They added, “When we say ‘Find your people,’ we are speaking directly to the safe, supportive space we are building through our Dopamine Den Discord server. In the future, we hope to expand this space to include access to professional support for those who need it, further strengthening our sense of community and care. ‘Find your dragon’ is about the power of self-recognition and healing through art. Each dragon we create is crafted with its own personality and story, intentionally reflecting different aspects of the neurodivergent experience. Finally, ‘Find yourself’ is both a nod to our Neuro-Spicy Brain wearable collection and a call to personal authenticity. We want to encourage people to be themselves, unapologetically, no matter what others might say.”

Neuro-Spicy Brain is a collection of wearables designed by Carolyne, “Each one represents a different neurodivergent experience. The response from those who have tried the collection has been overwhelmingly positive. People love the bold designs, the Canadian-made quality, and the sense of pride and belonging the pieces inspire.”

The care Kylyne’s Custom Treasures infuses into its work extends to even to packaging. “Every dragon leaves our studio wrapped in soft, sustainable honeycomb paper, tied with a little jute twine, and tucked gently into a sturdy cardboard box,” they said. “Before each one goes out, we stamp it with our logo by hand. It is a small but heartfelt reminder that real people, with real care, prepared this just for you. We want unboxing your dragon to feel like receiving a gift from a friend: gentle, cozy, and memorable.”

Collaborating with Biocraftlab through the Cubee Hive community has had a meaningful impact on artistry at Kylyne’s Custom Treasures. “Having access to Biocraftlab’s detailed, thoughtfully engineered models has opened up creative possibilities we might never have reached on our own,” they said. “The quality and flexibility of Nico’s designs allow us to focus on what we love most: bringing each dragon to life through hand-painting, custom colour palettes, and adding sensory-friendly touches that resonate with our neurodivergent community.”

Kylyne's Custom Treasures is looking forward to e-books, animation and more stories. “Through these stories, we want to empower neurodivergent people, help them feel seen, and remind them that with the right support, they can achieve their dreams,” they added.
