Coronation RCMP responds to fatal motor vehicle collision

Local News

On Jan. 7, 2025, around 2:50 a.m., Coronation RCMP were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on Range Road 111 in Paintearth County, Alta., where the driver, as well as several passengers, had been ejected. Upon arrival, EMS declared the driver, a youth resident of Special Areas 4, Alta., deceased. There were more passengers in the vehicle than seatbelts allowed, with 7 passengers and one driver in the vehicle rather than 7 total, and not all seatbelts were being utilized. All passengers were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Though the investigation is ongoing, preliminary information suggests that alcohol and speed are potential factors in the collision.

RCMP sends their condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.
