Local News

Coronation RCMP:  They made a presentation to Coronation Town Council. They reported that crime is down 10 percent Provincially with Coronation down 33 percent. 


Coronation Memorial Arena Board:   They are applying for Communities Facilities Enhancement Grant for replacement of the ice plant.   Other levels of Government are expected to fund their portions of the project totaling approximately $1 million.  In order to apply for CFEP funding they must sign a 10 year lease agreement with the Town of Coronation.  Council passed a motion for such to be done forthwith.


Coronation Swimming Pool: Western Recreation is willing to come and shut down the pool for the 2026 season. The Town is investigating extending the season as long as possible.


Highway 872 North of The Battle River:  Letters of support for repair have been submitted to Alberta Transportation.  Coronation Town Council expressed their concerns with the poor condition of the secondary highway.  The situation is caused by a natural spring running under the roadway, causing it to  gradually slide into the valley.
