Innisfail RCMP are renewing their appeal for information in the disappearance of Ohanes "Johnny" Melkon, who has been missing since March 2007.

Melkon, who was 27 years old at the time, was last seen on March 28, 2007, leaving his residence on 56 Street in Innisfail. He was reported missing by family members on April 3 after they were unable to contact him and he failed to report for work.

Investigators say Melkon worked for a pipeline company in Blackfalds and also worked seasonally building fences in the Sylvan Lake area. He was known to spend time in Innisfail, Red Deer, Blackfalds, Sylvan Lake and Penhold.

Originally from Montreal, Melkon moved to Alberta in May 2005 for employment.

At the time of his disappearance, Melkon was described as being five feet nine inches tall, weighing about 161 pounds with a slender build, brown eyes and a medium complexion. He had either a bald or shaved head or black hair.

He would now be 46 years old, and his whereabouts remain unknown.

RCMP say the missing person investigation has remained active since 2007 and investigators continue to follow up on information. Police are asking anyone who may have information about Melkon's disappearance or whereabouts, no matter how minor it may seem, to come forward.
