Valleyview RCMP recovers stolen property

On Jan. 7, 2026, Valleyview RCMP were contacted by Grande Prairie Rural RCMP, advising them that a vehicle that had been reported stolen may be at a location West of Sturgeon Lake, Alta. Valleyview RCMP members went to the scene and recovered stolen property, with early estimates evaluating the goods in the range of $300,000.00. These items included:

  • Front end loader;

  • Picker truck;

  • Gooseneck flat deck trailer;

  • Side by side UTV; and

  • Tools and various work-related items.

 

As a result of the investigation, the following two people have been arrested:

  • Jacob Bliid (41), a resident of Grande Prairie, Alta., was charged with 5 counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and 2 counts of failure to comply with release order.

  • Johnathon Anderson (44), a resident of Grande Prairie, was charged with 5 counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

 

Bliid and Anderson were brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. Anderson is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on Jan. 12, 2026, while Bliid will appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Valleyview on Jan. 15, 2026.
