Let's strike a team name related to a helpful group of college students.
Consider the Eager Beaver Club. Nope, not respectful.
Do Crew? Nope, used too much elsewhere.
How about the How Can We Help team?
That better describes what a volunteer work team of Prairie College students does at Chateau Three Hills every week.
Since they are volunteers, their reasons for dutifully streaming through the front door are as varied as the students. I love to help. I like to serve. It's part of my community. And as varied as their motives, the students come from many places in Alberta and British Columbia.
Their coordinator is the Chateau's congenial Recreation Coordinator Candace McDonald.
"They sure make a difference," she smiles, "no matter what I ask them to do. Ours is not a huge facility, but there are always opportunities to help. Today, janitorial, next time? Could be anything. They are quick to help and always ready to greet residents or assist staff. In September, when the college assigns students to ministry locations, some want to be re-posted to the Chateau. We like them and obviously, they like us!"
